Princess Anne Elizabeth Alice Louise was born on August 15, 1950, and is the second child and only daughter of Queen Elizabeth II and Prince Philip, Duke of Edinburgh. She is currently 16th in the line of succession to the British throne.

Princess Anne was born at Clarence House in London and was christened at Buckingham Palace on October 21, 1950. She was educated at Benenden School in Kent and later attended the University of Cambridge, where she studied English literature. After graduating, she pursued a career in equestrian sports.

Equestrian Success

Princess Anne is an accomplished equestrian and has represented Great Britain in international competitions. She won two gold medals at the European Championships in 1971 and 1975 and competed in the 1976 Montreal Olympics. She was also the first British royal to compete in the Olympic Games.

Personal Life

Princess Anne has been married twice. Her first marriage was to Captain Mark Phillips in 1973, and they had two children, Peter and Zara Phillips. The couple divorced in 1992, and Princess Anne later married Vice Admiral Sir Timothy Laurence in 1992.

Public Service

Princess Anne is actively involved in a wide range of charitable and public service organizations. She is the Patron of the Save the Children Fund, the British Red Cross, and the Royal National Institute for the Blind, among others.
